Selune's Embrace

Selune's Embrace is an Adult science fiction novel and the first of a planned series. The story runs to about 108,000 words. This novel has not yet been published in any form. 

Selune's Embrace tells the story of a people, the Hamarwen, facing the death of their planet and their star, Selune. The Hamarwen have prepared for generations to escape via interstellar ships to the Tomarna system, spending the transit with their consciousnesses uploaded into a quantum computing environment called the Construct. In spite of their preparation for the inevitable, their old divisions, selfishness, pride and unforeseen obstacles put the survival of the Hamarwen in doubt. The story is told through the experiences and choices of several characters, their voices influencing the prose. Some of these characters include a war hero broken by grief, an addicted and mentally unstable artist, the masked head of the secret police, and a nationalist trying to take advantage of the crisis.
